Chinese BBQ Pork Thu, 12 February 2004 00:21

2 lbs pork butt
1c up of honey mixed with water
4 Tbsp Hoisin sauce
5 Tbsp ketchup
3 Tbsp light soy sauce
3 Tbsp dark soy sauce
½ lb of sugar
¾ tsp salt
1 Tbsp cooking wine

Cut the pork in 8” thick strips.

Put pork strips in a bowl. Add in all the seasonings, stir well, then marinate for 2 hours.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Broil pork strips for 30 minutes. Rotate and broil another 20 minutes until surface is slightly crisp. Remove the pork from the oven, brush honey on evenly. Broil for another 10 minutes.

To Freeze: Freeze in freezer safe container.

To Reheat: Heat in microwave or oven until hot.

Very delicious, but extend the book time by at least 40 minutes longer than recommended. I recommend baking it in a foil-lined baking dish, the long cooking time will result in a very baked-on dirty dish.
